PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) The District administration here on Saturday arrested 80 shopkeepers and sealed 68 shops for various price-related violations.

The targeted inspections spanned numerous high-traffic areas, including Hashtangari Chowk, Chowk Yadgar, Phandu Road, Gulbahar, and Dal Zak Road.

Authorities initiated legal action after discovering that many vendors were either failing to display official price lists or were charging customers arbitrary, inflated rates for essential food items.

Deputy Commissioner Sanaullah Khan emphasized that these operations are part of a broader mandate to protect public from economic exploitation.

He asserted that adherence to official pricing is non-negotiable and vowed that indiscriminate enforcement will continue until market stability is ensured.

To bolster these efforts, the administration has urged citizens to proactively report overcharging or the absence of price lists, allowing for immediate intervention against predatory business practices.
