PESCO to ensure uninterrupted power supply to Imambargah feeders during Muharram 8–10

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has announced uninterrupted electricity supply to feeders serving Imambargahs during 8th, 9th and 10th Muharram to facilitate religious observances and processions.

According to a PESCO spokesperson, a total of 75 dedicated feeders have been designated for round-the-clock power supply during the period.

The spokesperson said the selected feeders include 19 in Peshawar, 19 in Khyber, two in Mardan, 31 in Dera Ismail Khan and four in Bannu.

A special control room has been established at PESCO Head Office, where senior officials will remain on duty to monitor operations.

PESCO operation teams have been directed to remain on high alert throughout 8th, 9th and 10th Muharram to ensure uninterrupted service and immediate response to any issues.

The spokesperson added that all hanging electricity wires along procession routes have been removed as a precautionary measure.

PESCO emergency teams have also been placed on full readiness, with additional transformers and other essential equipment arranged to handle any emergency situation.

The spokesman advised electricity consumers to contact the PESCO helpline at 118 in case of any complaints or power-related issues.
