PERA best force to curb hoarding,profiteering: IG Punjab

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) IG Punjab Abdul Karim said that PERA is the best force to curb hoarding and profiteering.

Director General of Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) Farrukh Atiq met IG Punjab Abdul

Karim at the Central Police Office, in which the objectives of the authority, the challenges faced

and the achievements so far were discussed.

The DG PERA informed IG Punjab about the performance and future goals of the institution.

On this occasion, IG Punjab said that PERA is a wonderful project of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif for public welfare.

IG Punjab said that Punjab Police had provided full support to PERA in its formation, human resources, operational and technical matters. Describing PERA as an effective force to combat encroachments, hoarding and profiteering, he said that on the instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, more than 3,000 police officers and personnel were provided to PERA in Phase One.

He further said that in phase two, Punjab Police will provide more human resources and high-quality training to PERA, adding, 18 weeks of modern training has been given to PERA officers and personnel at the Police Training College, Chohang.
