People of Northern Sindh celebrates Eidul Fitr with fervour

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Mar, 2026) The People of northern Sindh celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday with national fervour. Faithfuls gathered in mosques, Eidgahs and open spaces in cities, towns and villages to offer Eid prayers in the morning.

There were scores of small and big congregations in Sukku, Khairpur, Ghotki, Jaccobabad, Kashmore- Kandhkot, Shikarpur and Noshehroferoz with strict security arrangements in place.

A big gathering was held in Sukkur’s main Eid Gah. Mayor Barrister Arslan, Deputy Mayor Dr Arshad Mughal, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Nadir Shehzad Khan, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sukkur Azhar Khan Mughal and other officers also offered Eid prayers under one roof.

Member National Assembly (MNA) Khursheed Ahmed Shah and Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Awais Qadir Shah also offered Eid prayers in Shah House Sukkur.

In Khairpur, the biggest Eid prayer gathering was held at Jamia Masjid Sidiq-e- Akbar, where the MNA Javed Shah and others also offered prayers.

Meanwhile, Prominent Senior Politician and Social Leader Advocate Syed Shafqat Ali Shah offored Eid prayer in Karachi.

Big gatherings were also held in Eid Gah Jaccobad.

Shikarpur's Markazi Imam Bargah witnessed similar zeal and fervour with devotees from adjoining areas also attending the prayers.

In Ghotki the Eid prayers were held in small and big mosques and open grounds. Similarly large Eid gatherings took place on the Noshehroferoz and Kandiaro's Jamia Mosques.

Strict security arrangements were in place in every city including Sukkur, with personnel in large numbers deployed

at venues.
