People-friendly federal budget praised

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2026) The Federal government has been lauded for presenting a people-friendly budget, especially relief in taxes for government employees.

Saleem, an employee at a federal department office here in Bahawalpur, said that the federal government had won hearts of employees by providing special relief on head of taxes on salaries. “We are happy that surcharge taxes on salaries of the government employees will be withdrawn and other taxes will also be reduced,” he said.

Hassan Shah, another government employee, performing his services at a government department, said relief being provided to government employees in the Budget-2026-27 by increase in salary, withdrawal of surcharge tax and reduction of other taxes under four slabs would benefit employees.

Chaudhry Naveed, a trader at the Satellite Town Bahawalpur market said Pakistan Muslim League-N had been introducing pro-people policies. He viewed that PML-N-led government had taken good steps for traders and common people.
