Peace committee reviews Muharram arrangements in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2026) A meeting of the Tehsil Peace Committee was held under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Gujrat Abdul Qadeer Zarkoon to review arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.

According to official sources, scholars from different schools of thought, imams, members of the Peace Committee and representatives of relevant departments attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed security arrangements, administrative measures and steps to maintain peace and religious harmony during Muharram.

Participants emphasized ensuring law and order and promoting tolerance and brotherhood during the holy month.

Religious scholars and imams reaffirmed their commitment to peaceful observance of Muharram and inter-sect harmony and assured full cooperation with the district administration.

It was agreed that all stakeholders would work collectively to maintain peace, brotherhood and religious harmony across Gujrat district during Muharram.
