Peace committee assures full cooperation for cleanliness, maintaining peace on Eid

LODHRAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) The District Peace Committee on Monday reviewed security and sanitation arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha during a meeting held at the Committee Room in Lodhran.

The meeting was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Liaqat Ali Gilani, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Tayyab attended as a special participant. Officials concerned briefed the committee on the district’s special cleanliness campaign and security plan for the upcoming religious festival.

Members of the Peace Committee, including prominent religious scholars, assured the district administration of their full cooperation in maintaining peace, harmony and cleanliness during Eid-ul-Azha.

Speaking on the occasion, ADCG Liaqat Ali Gilani, stressed that Eid-ul-Azha should be celebrated in a clean and hygienic environment in line with Islamic teachings.

He said religious scholars and members of the Peace Committee have a key role in creating public awareness about cleanliness.

He informed the meeting that special awareness camps have been established across the city for the distribution of waste bags and guidance to citizens about cleanliness measures. He urged ulema to actively support the public awareness drive.

Gilani further stated that under the special Eid cleanliness plan, sanitation teams would remain active in streets and towns under special cleanliness plan.

DSP Abid Hussain briefed the meeting and said that Eid congregations would be held at 67 locations across the district and assured foolproof security arrangements.

He urged the religious scholars and citizens to cooperate with security forces in maintaining peace.
