PD KPCIP reviews progress on under construction Bagh-e-Naran park

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) Project Director, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project (KPCIP), Hameed Ullah Shah Saturday inspected under construction Bagh-e-Naran Park in Hayatabad and reviewed progress of ongoing development work.

He also reviewed plantation process and selection of plant species, stressing importance of prioritizing native and climate resilient species suited to local environment.

Resident Engineer Azmat Ullah Khan briefed him on overall technical aspects of project. He highlighted key features, implementation progress, and project’s anticipated benefits for environment, public health, and tourism sector of provincial capital.

PD KPCIP asked resident engineer to ensure removal of wild growth and non native plant species that are ecologically unsuitable and may hinder sustainable development of park.

The Bagh-e-Naran project is envisioned as a major urban green space aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and public well being.

The park will include dedicated family areas, playgrounds, an urban forest, gazebos, basketball and volleyball courts, an open-air gym, a spacious car park, and other amenities.

Upon completion, it is expected to benefit nearly 1.97 million residents, offering a vital ecological, social, and recreational asset for the city.

He was accompanied by Director Technical Engr. Mian Muhammad Shakeel and WATSAN Specialist Engr. Alamgir Afridi.
