PCB to take legal action against Zimbabwean Cricketer Blessing Muzarabani for contract violation

Muzarabani, who had signed with Islamabad United for PSL 11, withdrew from the tournament after entering into a contract with the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 13rd, 2026) The Pakistan cricket Board (PCB) has announced it will initiate legal proceedings against Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani for breaching his contract with the board.

Muzarabani, who had signed with Islamabad United for PSL 11, withdrew from the tournament after entering into a contract with the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders. This dual commitment violated the terms of his agreement with PCB, prompting the board to take strict legal measures.

A PCB spokesperson said that signing an IPL contract while under a valid PSL agreement constitutes a clear breach of contract, and the board is committed to protecting the integrity of its competitions and franchises.

This is not the first time PCB has taken such action; last year, legal proceedings were initiated against South African cricketer Corbin Bosch for similar contractual violations.

The board reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing agreements with players and ensuring that international and domestic commitments are honored, maintaining the credibility of the Pakistan Super League.
