SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) Provincial Minister for Communication and Works Punjab Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth on Wednesday chaired a meeting to initiate formal working on a project aimed at connecting all divisional headquarters of the province with the motorway network to ensure swift and safe travel facilities.
The meeting, attended by Secretary C&W Sohail Ashraf, the special secretary, and chief engineers, reviewed various aspects of integrating Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, and Bahawalpur with the motorways.
The provincial minister directed officials to identify feasible locations for establishing links and instructed that feasibility studies should also include Bahawalnagar and Rajanpur districts to provide better commuting options to residents of remote areas.
Sohaib Ahmad Bharth emphasized that the project design must prioritize reducing travel time for citizens to reach the motorway.
Highlighting the importance of regional connectivity for Sargodha, he noted that improved infrastructure would bolster economic activities and facilitate the transportation of local produce.
The minister said that the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif is committed to providing international-standard travel facilities and that the provincial government is taking concrete steps to modernize infrastructure across the province.
