Pakistanis stand united behind armed forces to defend country against terrorism, Ashrafi affirms

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2026) Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, on Tuesday, affirmed that Ulema from every school of thought in Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces.

He urged the religious scholars and people of Afghanistan to press their leadership to prevent their soil from being used against Pakistan and warned that any aggression in this regard will be met decisively.

In an exclusive video message on ptv news, Ashrafi recalled how Pakistan has always provided shelter and support to Afghan refugees, treating them with brotherly care.

He noted that even now, many Afghans are living in Pakistan, yet despite this longstanding generosity, the current Taliban interim regime is once again allowing their land to be used against Pakistan for terrorist activities.

Ashrafi emphasized that terrorism has reached every corner of the country, and no province or even place of worship is spared from terrorist attacks.

He warned that such aggression can no longer be tolerated and that Pakistan will respond firmly to protect its people and sovereignty.

Urging Afghan scholars and the nation to reflect on these developments, he called for immediate action to hold leaders accountable and prevent further misuse of Afghan soil.

He stressed that responsible voices in Afghanistan must step forward before the situation escalates further.

He said Pakistan is a nuclear power and its armed forces are among the best in the world.

Referring to the recent attack on a training camp, he criticized the propaganda that followed and condemned statements by the Afghan spokesperson, stressing that such actions will not be tolerated.

He affirmed that Pakistanis stand united behind their armed forces to defend the country and its territory against terrorism.
