Pakistan will go to any extent; no compromise on national sovereignty, says Bilal Azhar Kayani

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) Minister of State for Railways and Finance, Bilal Azhar Kayani, warned Afghanistan on Friday that Pakistan’s peaceful approach should not be seen as weakness, stressing that the armed forces remain strong to safeguard the country’s land and citizens while upholding national sovereignty at all costs.

While exclusively speaking to a local media channel, Kayani paid tribute to the courage and professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces, highlighting their unwavering dedication to protecting the nation.

He emphasized that the Pakistan Army responded swiftly to the unprovoked aggression from the Afghan Taliban regime, showcasing the strength and readiness of the country’s defense forces.

Kayani reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to peace in the region but warned that its resolve should not be mistaken for weakness, underscoring that the armed forces stand firmly to defend the country’s land, citizens, and sovereignty.

He said Pakistan repeatedly sought peace talks and even presented evidence showing the presence of TTP elements in Afghanistan, but those warnings were ignored.

Kayani added that Pakistan will go to any extent to protect its citizens, noting that Afghanistan had the capacity to stop these threats but lacked the proper intent, and now it will face the consequences of its inaction.
