KAZAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM), Talha Burki on Wednesday highlighted the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Russia, emphasizing that Pakistan views Russia as an important partner in promoting peace, stability, and multipolarity on the global stage.
Federal Minister Rana Mubashir Iqbal and Special Assistant to Prime Minister, Talha Burki are representing Pakistan at International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” in Kazan, Russia.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the conference, SAPM Talha Burki further noted that Pakistan is keen to become part of President Vladimir Putin’s vision for the North–South Transport Corridor by linking the International North–South Transport Corridor (INSTC) with Gwadar Port.
According to Burki, such connectivity would further complement President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative, strengthening regional integration and economic cooperation across Eurasia.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The II Russia–Pakistan International Conference “The Evolution of Russia–Pakistan Relations in the Context of a Changing World Order” is organized by the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University on the sidelines of the Kazan Forum.
Among the other distinguished speakers at the conference were H.E. Mr. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Russian Federation, and H.E. Mr. Albert Khorev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Pakistan.
The II Russia–Pakistan International Conference brought together scholars, policymakers, business leaders, and students from different countries to discuss the evolving Pakistan–Russia relationship and explore new avenues for long-term cooperation in a changing global landscape.
