ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jun, 2026) Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, Wajiha Qamar, held a bilateral meeting with Yusuf Tekin on the sidelines of the Türkiye Education Technologies Summit and Fair (TETZ 2026) in Istanbul, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan–Türkiye cooperation in education, skills development and educational innovation.
The meeting focused on expanding collaboration in education, technical and vocational training, language education, educational technology, academic exchange and cultural cooperation. Both sides discussed measures to institutionalize collaboration through the signing of a comprehensive education cooperation agreement and the establishment of joint working groups to accelerate implementation of mutually beneficial initiatives.
Both Ministers also exchanged views on the growing role of artificial intelligence in education, particularly in language learning. They explored opportunities to develop AI-assisted platforms for teaching Turkish in Pakistan and urdu in Türkiye, aiming to promote greater cultural understanding and stronger people-to-people ties between the two brotherly nations.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Wajiha Qamar emphasized that Pakistan attaches great importance to its longstanding and historic relations with Türkiye and is committed to translating bilateral understandings into tangible outcomes.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>She stressed the need for the timely implementation of existing agreements while pursuing new frameworks of cooperation in education, digital learning, teacher development, technical and vocational education, and academic partnerships.She said that enhanced collaboration in education and skills development would contribute significantly to preparing future generations for emerging global challenges while further strengthening the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye.
Minister Yusuf Tekin reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to expanding educational cooperation with Pakistan and noted that the deep-rooted ties between the two countries could be further strengthened through joint educational initiatives, academic collaboration and innovation-driven partnerships.
The meeting was also attended by the Turkish Education Counsellor to Pakistan and senior officials of the Ministry of National Education of Türkiye, including the Director General for European Union and Foreign Affairs.
Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination to advance the shared agenda and transform the outcomes of the meeting into practical initiatives for the mutual benefit of the education sectors of Pakistan and Türkiye.
