Pakistan thrash Bangladesh by 128 runs to level ODI series 1–1

In pursuit of the revised 243-run target, Bangladesh struggled against Pakistan’s bowling attack and were dismissed for 114.

DHAKA: The Pakistan national cricket team defeated the Bangladesh national cricket team by 128 runs under the Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method in the second One Day International to level the three-match series 1–1.

Playing under the captaincy of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Pakistan were bowled out for 274 in the 48th over after batting first. However, rain interrupted the match and Bangladesh were given a revised target of 243 runs in 32 overs.

Chasing the revised total, Bangladesh were bowled out for just 114 in the 24th over.

Pakistan Innings

Young batter Maaz Sadaqat played a brilliant innings, scoring 75 runs off 46 balls, including six fours and five sixes.

Salman Ali Agha also contributed a solid 64 runs with seven fours and two sixes, while Mohammad Rizwan scored 44 runs. Opener Sahibzada Farhan added 31 runs and Faheem Ashraf chipped in with 14.

For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain took three wickets while captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed two.

In pursuit of the revised 243-run target, Bangladesh struggled against Pakistan’s bowling attack and were dismissed for 114.

Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das was the top scorer with 41 runs, while Towhid Hridoy made 28 and Saif Hassan scored 12.

For Pakistan, Haris Rauf and Maaz Sadaqat took three wickets each, while Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed two wickets.

With the emphatic victory, the three-match ODI series is now level at 1–1, after Bangladesh had won the opening match convincingly.
