Pakistan’s leadership achieves rare century-level diplomatic success, strengthens peace narrative: Lawmakers praises

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) Parliamentarians on Wednesday commended Pakistan’s military and political leadership, terming it a major diplomatic breakthrough on the global front, an achievement considered exceptional over the past century, reflecting Pakistan’s growing role in promoting peace and regional stability.

Speaking to media channels, Lawmakers in national Assembly from various political parties strongly welcomed and praised Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements, lauding the continued leadership efforts of the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir in advancing national interests, strengthening international relations and elevating Pakistan’s global standing.

Imran Ahmad Shah, PML-N Senator, said Pakistan has played a very important and positive role as a “big brother” in promoting peace, reflecting its constructive diplomacy and commitment to regional stability.

Senator Syed Mustafa Kamal, Federal Minister for Health from MQM, praised the development and called it a landmark diplomatic success, stating that such achievements are exceptional and rarely witnessed even across centuries, attributing full credit to Pakistan’s leadership.

He further said the outcome reflects a “landmark” success for Pakistan on the global stage, marking a moment of pride and strengthened international recognition for the country’s diplomatic efforts.

Senator Faisal Vawda also praised the development, calling it a “game-changing diplomatic milestone” that reflects Pakistan’s rising global influence and leadership strength.

PPP Senator Naz Baloch praised the development, saying “Well done Pakistan,” and termed it a commendable diplomatic achievement reflecting Pakistan’s growing global recognition, strengthened international standing and positive role in promoting peace and cooperation.

Sehar Kamran, Member of the National Assembly, also lauded the development, terming it a notable diplomatic success that underscores Pakistan’s rising global stature and constructive role in advancing peace, stability, and international engagement.

Umair Khan Niazi, Member of the National Assembly, praised the development, saying “good job Pakistan,” and expressed confidence that it will open new opportunities for exports and trade, strengthening economic growth and international economic cooperation.

Ali Qasim Gilani, PPP lawmaker, said there is a need to expand trade relations with Iran, terming it a vital step toward strengthening economic cooperation, boosting regional connectivity and supporting long-term economic growth and regional stability.

Overall, lawmakers across political parties welcomed the development, praising Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and diplomacy.
