Pakistan played a pivotal role in promoting regional peace :PA Speaker

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan on Sunday said Pakistan has played a “pivotal and constructive role” in promoting regional peace and contributing to the peaceful resolution of international disputes with its diplomatic efforts being acknowledged by the global community.

He was addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office-bearers of the Ready-Made Garments Association,Shah Alam Market.

The speaker said Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement and facilitation efforts in relation to the ceasefire between the United States and Iran carried significant strategic importance.

He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister(PM) Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan had actively contributed to peace building initiatives and regional stability.

He said the nation remained supportive of the leadership’s efforts aimed at ensuring peace and stability.

Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said Pakistan had emerged as a resilient and responsible state, demonstrating strength in both diplomacy and defence.

He noted that the armed forces responded in a timely and effective manner to safeguard national sovereignty,which he said had strengthened public confidence and enhanced the country’s international standing.

Referring to May 10,he said the date marked a significant chapter in national history when Pakistan delivered a “decisive and proportionate response” to hostile aggression.

He stressed that the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity remained inviolable and non-negotiable.

The Speaker further said Pakistan’s defence capability,diplomatic strategy and economic direction were increasingly being recognized at the international level, adding that the country continued to strengthen its position as a stable and influential state in the global arena.
