Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon on Thursday reaffirmed that Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable, saying their bond is rooted in historical, geographical, religious and moral foundations

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon on Thursday reaffirmed that Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable, saying their bond is rooted in historical, geographical, religious and moral foundations.

Talking to media after visiting Mazar-e-Quaid, the minister said Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah's statement that "Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan" continued to guide the country's policy on the Kashmir issue.

He alleged that grave human rights violations were continuing in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), where the identity and fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people were being systematically suppressed. He urged the international community to take notice of the situation and play an effective role in ensuring the Kashmiri people's internationally recognised right to self-determination.

The minister said Pakistan had demonstrated responsibility, prudence and an effective strategy on both diplomatic and defence fronts during recent challenges, adding that the country's constructive role had been acknowledged by the international community.

Paying tribute to the martyrs of Kashmir, he said Pakistan would continue to support the Kashmiri people and would not allow their sacrifices to go in vain.

Condemning what he described as India's violation of the Indus Waters Treaty, the minister termed it "water terrorism" and alleged that using water as a weapon was a violation of international law. He also appreciated the role of Pakistan's political and military leadership in presenting the country's position before the international community.

He further condemned what he described as Indian-sponsored terrorism and expressed confidence in Pakistan's political and military leadership to deal with emerging challenges.

Earlier, the minister laid a wreath at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, offered Fateha and prayed for the country's peace, stability and prosperity. He also recorded his impressions in the visitors' book.

Later, he visited the Quaid-e-Azam Museum, where he viewed historical artefacts and galleries dedicated to the Founder of Pakistan.

Members of the National Assembly Syed Abdul Qadir Gillani and Asad Alam Niazi, who are also members of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, accompanied the minister during the visit.
