Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has temporarily suspended its flight operations to Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates for a period of 48 hours.
According to an official notification issued on Wednesday, the airline confirmed that its flights to Al Ain will continue without disruption. For the time being, Al Ain remains the only destination in the UAE being served by PIA.
PIA flight 178 (Fujerah-Lahore) is safe and sound and has landed at Karachi.

A spokesperson for PIA clarified that while flights to Fujairah have been temporarily halted, operations to the UAE city of Al Ain will continue as scheduled.
“During flight, it developed a cabin pressurisation related snag, and as per procedure, it reduced altitude to 10,000 feet,” it revealed in a post on X.
“Our team of Engineers are working diligently to remove the fault, and flight will be dispatched to its original destination, i.e., Lahore, shortly.”
The decision follows recent developments in the region, after Iran carried out new strikes targeting the UAE on Tuesday.
One of the reported impacts of the attack was a fire at the Fujairah port, a major oil export hub, where operations by ADNOC were halted. The disruption has raised concerns about further instability in global energy markets, contributing to a surge in oil prices.
Since the escalation of the US-Israeli conflict with Iran on February 28, Gulf countries including the UAE have reportedly been hit by more than 2,000 missile and drone attacks.
These strikes have targeted a range of sites, including diplomatic missions, military installations, ports, airports, and civilian infrastructure.
The airline has advised passengers to stay updated on flight schedules and contact relevant offices for further information regarding their travel plans.
