PAKISTAN: Sarfaraz Ahmed said it’s encouraging to see Babar Azam and Shan Masood returning to form before the Bangladesh series. He added that the team camp is progressing well and they aim for a strong start in the new World Test Championship cycle.

Sarfaraz Ahmed announced during a media interview on the day of the press conference that the Peshawar Zalmi players would join the national side for the Bangladesh tour after the final match. The remaining 12-13 players are still in training and will continue until they depart for Bangladesh after the final tests. His main focus is the red-ball format, and any decisions regarding white-ball formats will be made by the PCB.

Former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was appointed head coach of Pakistan’s Test team, and Azan Awais and Abdullah Fazal, both of whom had strong performances in domestic cricket, were given an opportunity as part of that process.

Sarfaraz Ahmed also stated that the team’s objective was to start on the right foot with the new World Test Championship cycle.
