Pakistan designated Guest of Honor at 9th China-Eurasia Expo in Urumqi

URUMQI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Pakistan participated as Guest of Honor Country in the 9th China-Eurasia Expo held in Urumqi under the theme “New Opportunities of the Silk Road; New Vitality for Eurasian Cooperation,” highlighting growing trade and economic linkages between Pakistan and China.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi attended the opening ceremony of the expo, which brought together regional leaders and stakeholders to promote Eurasian cooperation and economic connectivity.

A dedicated Pakistan National Pavilion was set up at the expo, featuring 17 booths and showcasing the products of 44 Pakistani exhibitors. The pavilion was jointly inaugurated by Vice Governor of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Wang Jianxin, Deputy Speaker, National Assembly, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, and Ambassador Khalil Hashmi.

During the visit, the ambassador briefed the Xinjiang Vice Governor on the key features of Pakistani export products, including handicrafts, carpets, gemstones, leather goods, wooden carved furniture, garments, and other premium items, emphasizing their craftsmanship and export potential.

Both sides also exchanged views on further strengthening bilateral trade cooperation, particularly through improved and expedited customs clearance and quarantine procedures at the Khunjerab Pass, aimed at facilitating smoother cross-border trade.
