Pakistan Day ceremony held at Jinnah Hall, speakers stress unity & stability

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Mar, 2026) A ceremony marking the 86th Pakistan Day was held at Jinnah Hall under the auspices of the Quaid-e-Azam Academy, where speakers underscored the need for unity, stability and adherence to constitutional principles.

The ceremony commenced with a flag-hoisting by Chairman Pakistan Justice Association Sardar Muhammad Iqbal Khan at the academy premises.

The event was attended by a number of social, political and community figures, including Abdul Majeed Farooqi, Rana Ashfaq Rasool, Aslam Khan Farooqi, Allama Murtaza Khan Rehmani and Syed Naseem Shah, among others.

Following the flag-hoisting, special prayers were offered for the country’s security, stability and prosperity, as well as for the elevation of ranks of martyrs.

In the second session, a discussion on “Stability of Pakistan” was held, with head of the Liaquat Ali Khan Memorial Committee Mehfooz-un-Nabi Khan as chief guest. Honourary guests included Rana Ashfaq Rasool, Syed Naseem Shah and Allama Syed Asif Mustafai, while Sardar Muhammad Iqbal Khan presided over the session.

Speakers said Pakistan Day symbolised resolve and called for collective efforts to strengthen the country.

They emphasised that unity and cohesion were the need of the hour and urged practical steps to promote harmony in society.

Mehfooz-un-Nabi Khan observed that unity could not be achieved without promoting equality, stressing the need for concrete measures to ensure development and prosperity. Sardar Muhammad Iqbal Khan highlighted the importance of following the principles of Muhammad Ali Jinnah to build a stronger Pakistan.

Rana Ashfaq Rasool urged the nation to remain hopeful and continue striving for peace, development and stability, while Syed Naseem Shah noted that the objectives behind the creation of Pakistan had yet to be fully realised, calling for a move beyond personal interests in line with Quaid-e-Azam’s vision.

The speakers also stressed that supremacy of the Constitution and rule of law were essential for resolving national issues, adding that a strong system of justice was key to progress and stability.

The session also featured recitations of poetry by Muneef Ashar Malihabadi and Qamar-uz-Zaman Siddiqui in connection with the national day.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Abdul Majeed Farooqi, who expressed gratitude to the participants and offered prayers.
