Pakistan committed to protecting citizens abroad: Tarar

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Federal Minister for Law and Justice said on Thursday that the government is providing all possible support through diplomatic channels and remains committed to protecting Pakistani citizens living abroad.

Responding to a point of order raised by Abdul Qadir Patel in the National Assembly regarding Pakistani nationals held hostage in Somalia, he said Pakistan will not abandon its citizens in any difficult situation overseas and will continue to extend full support.

He added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is actively handling the matter and remains in close contact with relevant authorities.

The minister reiterated that the government is using all diplomatic means to ensure the protection and welfare of Pakistani citizens abroad.
