Pakistan Army captures five Afghan posts in retaliatory action

Security officials say Pakistani troops launched a retaliatory operation in the Paktia region, capturing five posts located opposite Shawal, Angoor Adda and Zarmalan

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Feb 27th, 2026) The Pakistan Army has reportedly taken control of five Afghan check posts and hoisted the national flag following what security sources described as unprovoked aggression by Afghan Taliban forces along the border.

The security officials said that Pakistani troops launched a retaliatory operation in the Paktia region, capturing five posts located opposite Shawal, Angoor Adda and Zarmalan. The seized positions include two posts opposite Shawal, two opposite Angoor Adda and one opposite Zarmalan.

The sources said the operation was carried out effectively, during which the Afghan terminal at Angoor Adda was also destroyed. They claimed that Afghan Taliban forces suffered heavy losses in the exchange.

A video has also surfaced showing Pakistani soldiers raising the national flag at one of the captured check posts. However, there has been no independent confirmation of these developments from Afghan authorities.
