PAA, Pak Army, FWO revive Parachinar Airport

PARACHINAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) Parachinar Airport in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been reactivated and made operational again through the efforts of the Pakistan Army, the Frontier Works Organization (FWO), and the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA).

According to details, the reconstruction and rehabilitation of Parachinar Airport mark an important step toward restoring air transport in the region.

Following the airport’s upgradation by the FWO, Pakistan Army Aviation conducted successful operational landing and takeoff trials.

A total of six landing and takeoff trials were completed to assess the quality of construction, runway functionality, and overall operational readiness.

The airport runways were declared to meet professional standards and high safety requirements. The operationalization of Parachinar Airport will help improve regional connectivity, enhance emergency response capabilities, and boost economic activity.
