PAA holds public hearing for aviation complex project, receives stakeholder support

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has successfully completed a key regulatory requirement for its flagship Aviation Complex Project by conducting the mandatory Public Hearing for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in the Federal capital on Tuesday.

The session, held at a local hotel, drew participation from members of the public, environmental professionals, community representatives, and various stakeholders.

Organized under the provisions of the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA), the hearing served as a formal forum to present the project’s environmental implications, technical specifications, and compliance measures. Technical support for the EIA process was provided by National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), whose experts briefed the audience on the study's findings.

During the session, project consultants and PAA officials outlined the scope and significance of the Aviation Complex, a state-of-the-art G+26 structure with six basements, designed to centralize PAA offices and aviation-related services.

The project aims to enhance operational efficiency while aligning with sustainable infrastructure standards in Islamabad.

Stakeholders engaged actively, posing questions on environmental safeguards, urban impact, waste management, and traffic flow. Concerns and suggestions were addressed in detail, with the PAA assuring participants that public feedback would be an integral part of the final EIA submission.

The refined EIA report, incorporating stakeholder input, will now be submitted to Pak-EPA for environmental approval, a critical step before groundbreaking can commence.
