Owais Laghari felicitated on receiving Hilal-e-Imtiaz

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Lahore Electric Supply Company's board of Directors (LESCO-BoD) Chairman Engineer Amir Zia and LESCO Chief Executive Officer Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt Wednesday felicitated Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Laghari on receiving Hilal-e-Imtiaz in acknowledgement of his significant services, historic reforms, public relief and effective policies in the power sector.

They said that significant reforms have been introduced in the power sector under the leadership of Sardar Owais Ahmad Khan Laghari, asserting that industrial and domestic consumers got relief in electricity prices, circular debt decreased significantly. IPPs agreements restructuring saved the national treasury with billions of rupees while renewable energy, Solarisation and digitalization projects also got a rapid breakthrough.

LESCO Board Chairman Engineer Amir Zia said that Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Laghari took valuable steps to promote cutting-edge technology and public convenience. He added that key services would be an important milestone in the development of Pakistan's energy sector.

LESCO Chief Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt said that Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan brought major improvements and transparency in the power sector which are yielding positive results. He said, conferring upon such a high national award of Hilal-e-Imtiaz is indeed an acknowledgement of his exceptional services for the nation.
