RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) The district administration in Rawalpindi has carried out 9,418 inspections over the past three days as part of an ongoing price control campaign to ensure the availability of essential food items at official rates during Ramazan.
According to official figures, from Feb 19 to Feb 22, a total of 449 violations were detected during market inspections across the district.
Taking strict action against profiteers, the administration imposed fines amounting to Rs 2.385 million.
In addition, 14 cases were registered against violators. Authorities also sealed 150 shops and business outlets for breaching regulations, while 165 individuals were arrested during the crackdown.
The Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi has directed all shopkeepers to prominently display official price lists and strictly adhere to government-notified rates.
Immediate action is being taken on public complaints, adding that monitoring will continue under a zero-tolerance policy to provide maximum relief to citizens.
