According to a spokesman, the department’s Foreign National Security Cell has been carrying out effective operations across the province for the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals.

He said that the statistics reflect the Punjab government’s effective strategy and proactive administrative measures, adding that Afghan nationals are being sent back to their homeland in accordance with the clear policy of the Government of Pakistan.

During the crackdown, 11,739 illegally residing Afghan nationals were identified and repatriated, while action on information received through Emergency Helpline 15 led to the repatriation of 450 Afghan nationals so far.

The spokesman urged citizens to cooperate in the national mission and report illegal stay of Afghan nationals, identity fraud or any suspicious activity to Emergency 15.
