LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Feb, 2026) Over 2,000 traffic officers and wardens will perform round-the-clock duties across Lahore during the holy month of Ramazan as City Traffic Police (CTP) Lahore has finalized a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic in the provincial capital.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Dr Athar Waheed, while visiting various parts of the city to review traffic flow, said that traffic police would perform duties round the clock during Ramazan, with additional personnel deployed in the second shift and special squads remaining active to manage rush during peak hours.

The CTO added that vehicles of all 45 traffic sectors would remain on patrolling duty during the night shift to maintain uninterrupted traffic flow and prevent congestion on major roads and commercial areas. He said that traffic wardens would be deployed at 23 Sahulat Bazaars, five cattle markets and 22 dastarkhwans established across the city to facilitate citizens and regulate traffic.

Divisional and circle officers would ensure full supervision during Iftar and Taraweeh timings to effectively manage traffic pressure, he added.

Dr Athar directed strict implementation of parking discipline in Ramazan bazaars and other busy markets, stressing that wrong parking would not be allowed at any cost.

To eliminate wrong parking, more than 200 wardens of the Traffic Response Unit, along with 34 forklifters and five breakdown vehicles, would remain available round the clock to remove illegally parked vehicles.

He further said that Iftar would be provided to traffic wardens at their duty points at official expense, while SPs and DSPs would also share Iftar with wardens at various intersections to boost their morale.

The CTO expressed the hope that citizens would cooperate with traffic police and demonstrate patience and tolerance, especially during Iftar hours, to help ensure smooth traffic flow during Ramazan.
