MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Provincial Ombudsperson Punjab Dr Najma Afzal Khan visited Multan and addressed the media on
measures taken to prevent workplace harassment and ensure protection of women’s rights.
Talking to journalista, she stated that out of 1,400 harassment cases reported to the Ombudsperson
Office, more than 1,300 cases have resulted in punishments, reflecting strict implementation
of anti-harassment laws.
She emphasized that prevention of harassment is the top priority and directions have been issued to all departments to activate institutional inquiry committees.
Dr Najma Afzal Khan informed that regional offices of the Provincial Ombudsperson have been
established in nine districts of Punjab to improve access to justice.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>She stated that women have also been provided relief in property and inheritance matters, ensuring
restoration of their legal rights.
The provincial Ombudsperson warned that false complaints or baseless allegations would also lead to legal action against complainants.
She added that free justice is being provided to women facing workplace harassment, while more than 5,000 women deprived of property rights have so far been granted ownership through the Ombudsperson Office.
She reaffirmed the commitment to ensuring safe workplaces and speedy justice for women across Punjab.
