Over 13,500 new driving licences issued in Rawalpindi: CTP RWP

City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi have issued more than 13,500 new driving licences during this month and continue to provide uninterrupted licensing services to citizens across the district in holy month of Ramazan

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi have issued more than 13,500 new driving licences during this month and continue to provide uninterrupted licensing services to citizens across the district in holy month of Ramazan.

The services are being carried out under the supervision of City Police Officer CPO Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani and on the directives of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam.

According to official data, over 67,300 citizens have availed various licensing facilities so far this month at different licensing centres in the district.

City Traffic police have ensured that operations continue smoothly throughout Ramazan to facilitate the public.

Special arrangements have also been made for citizens visiting centres at iftar time, where refreshments are being provided.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam said that serving citizens during the holy month is a matter of honour, adding that the department remains committed to issuing licences strictly on merit and in a dignified manner.

He further stated that any citizen can obtain licensing services from any Rawalpindi licensing centre upon presenting a valid original CNIC.

For the convenience of motorcyclists, learner licences are being issued the same day without unnecessary delay. Authorities have urged drivers to carry valid licences while driving, terming it a sign of responsible and confident driving.
