Opposition exceeds allocated time in budget debate by over five hours: NA Speaker informs house

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jun, 2026) Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Friday informed the House that the opposition had exceeded its allocated time for the budget debate by more than five hours.

Addressing lawmakers before the resumption of the budget debate, the Speaker said that opposition members had been allocated nine hours for participation in the discussion.

However, he added that 62 opposition lawmakers had spoken for a total of 14 hours, 4 minutes, and 28 seconds, significantly exceeding the allocated time.
