The death toll since July 5 reaches 88, the official sources say on situation in Balochistan
QUETTA: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-July 11th, 2026) The security forces on Saturday killed nine more militants during the ongoing Operation Shaban in Balochistan, taking the total number of militants eliminated in various operations since July 5 to 88, according to security sources.
The latest operation was carried out jointly by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) and Balochistan Police as part of an intensified campaign against militant groups operating in the province.
Security sources said the nine militants were killed during coordinated air and ground operations, raising the total number of militants eliminated under Operation Shaban alone to 52.
The operation was launched following the recent attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station in Ziarat and is continuing in several parts of Balochistan. Authorities said security forces are targeting militant hideouts through intelligence-based operations aimed at restoring peace and stability in the region.
Security officials maintained that the campaign would continue until all militants involved in terrorist activities are neutralised.

The latest developments come after a series of deadly terrorist attacks in Balochistan in which 42 people, including security personnel and civilians, lost their lives.
Earlier this week, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said militants attacked the Mangi Dam Police Station in Ziarat, where police personnel put up strong resistance before security forces launched a clearance operation. He said 15 militants were killed during the initial engagement, while nine police personnel embraced martyrdom after fighting the attackers.
Pakistan has witnessed an increase in militant attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in recent years. Security forces have continued intelligence-based operations across the country, saying they remain committed to eliminating terrorism and ensuring lasting peace.
