Open court held to address legal issues of public in Gwadar

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) Under the policy of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti’s people-friendly vision, good governance, strengthening of state writ and solving citizens’ problems at their doorsteps, a comprehensive public open court was organized in Sarbandan on the special instructions of Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Naqeebullah Kakar on Friday.

The open court was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Zahoor Ahmed Baloch, in which a large number of civil and military officers from various departments, women, students, fishing community and local citizens participated.

The open court was attended by concerned officials of government departments. During the open court, a detailed review of the development projects completed under Balochistan Social Development Initiative (BSDI) Phase One and Phase Two was taken, while in Phase Three, proposals for new projects were considered according to public needs and local priorities.

The participants termed the development process as a positive development for the public welfare and sustainable development of coastal areas. Local citizens demanded the construction of a bridge in Sarbandan, repair of old water storage tanks, rehabilitation of electricity poles, lines and transformers, construction of a sewage system, protection wall to prevent coastal erosion and construction of a one-kilometer road at the old Sarbandan cross. Executive Engineer PHE Momin Baloch said that a separate pumping station would be constructed to ensure constant supply of clean drinking water to Sarbandan, which could help in a long-term solution to water problems in the area.

Issues related to the health sector were also discussed in detail in the open court. Citizens demanded the repair of RHC Sarbandan, restoration of ambulance, increase in medicine quota, provision of X-ray, labor room and other medical facilities.

District Health Officer Dr. Yasir Tahir assured the public that effective steps would be taken to improve medical facilities by utilizing the available resources.

In the education sector, female students and parents pointed out the shortage of teachers in various educational institutions including Government Girls High school and demanded the appointment of teachers of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and other subjects.

The problems of the middle School Baloch Mohalla were also presented in the open court. The district administration declared the promotion of education as one of the top priorities of the Balochistan government and directed the concerned authorities to formulate recommendations to resolve the problems.

The fishing community presented issues related to fisheries, demanding the provision of an additional floating jetty, removal of old inoperable boats in the sea using cranes and provision of better facilities to fishermen.

Citizens also raised issues related to the malfunctioning of the mobile network, land settlement, issues related to the land of the Girls High School and other public matters before the administration. Artists and musicians appealed to the Balochistan government to promote cultural activities and patronize local artists.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Zahoor Ahmed Baloch, while addressing the open court, said that in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the district administration is taking practical steps to resolve public issues, provide basic facilities and develop coastal areas.

He said that the aim of the open courts is to strengthen direct communication between the public and the government and ensure that the problems of citizens are immediately conveyed to the relevant institutions and resolved.

He directed the officers of the relevant departments to take coordinated and effective steps for redressal of public grievances, timely completion of development projects and provision of basic facilities so that the vision of the Balochistan government for public service can be effectively implemented.
