One held, accomplice escapes in anti-narcotics raid in Clifton area

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) Boat Basin Police Station conducted a successful operation against drug peddlers near the railway track in Shireen Jinnah Colony and arrested one suspect, while his accomplice managed to escape, a spokesperson for District South Police said on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a police party carried out a raid in the area and apprehended a suspect identified as Muhammad Luqman, son of Talha Muhammad. His alleged accomplice, Gul Muhammad, son of Mian Hassan, fled the scene after discarding a bag of hashish.

Police said a total of 1,660 grams of hashish was recovered during the operation.

The arrested suspect is said to be a habitual offender who had previously been detained and jailed in narcotics-related cases.

A case has been registered at Boat Basin Police Station and the suspect has been handed over to the investigation wing for further inquiry. Raids are being conducted at various locations to arrest the absconding accused, the spokesperson added.
