One gets death sentence, others life imprisonment in murder cases

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) A district court in Rawalpindi sentenced a man to death, while three others got life imprisonment in two separate cases.

In first case, the convict, identified as Sarfraz, was awarded life imprisonment for killing a citizen following a minor altercation, also fined Rs 100,000 as compensation.

According to the details, the case was registered in June 2025 at Waris Khan police station. The court awarded the sentence after completion of trial and effective prosecution based on solid evidence.

Another court awarded a death sentence to a man and life imprisonment to two accomplices in a murder case registered in Rawalpindi.

According to the details, the main convict, Mushtaq, was sentenced to death and fined Rs 200,000. Two co-accused, Maqsood and Waqar, were awarded life imprisonment along with fines of Rs.500,000.0 each for abetment.

The case was registered in May 2024 at Sadiqabad police station.

CPO Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani commended the investigation and legal teams for securing convictions through effective prosecution.
