Ombudsman Punjab ensures timely restoration of civic amenities

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) Under instructions from the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab, an amount of Rs.3.3 million has been spent on initiatives to ensure the timely restoration and improvement of basic civic amenities in different districts of the province,here on Wednesday.

According to a spokesperson, the Ombudsman Punjab directed the relevant departments to undertake immediate remedial measures for the repair and maintenance of roads,restoration of street lights,improvement of sanitation, covering of uncovered sewage manholes and cleaning and reconstruction of drainage systems.

The measures have significantly improved public convenience and safety in several areas.

The spokesperson said that the repair and restoration of street lights helped ensure safer and better illuminated public spaces while the improvement of pedestrian pathways and walkways enhanced the safety and mobility of pedestrians.

Likewise,the cleaning and rehabilitation of drainage channels and sewerage systems contributed to better sanitation and environmental conditions.

He added that the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab was committed to prompt resolution of public complaints and to improving the quality of life of citizens through effective administrative oversight and public service delivery.
