Ombudsman Punjab ensures release of Rs73.2m family pensions

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) The intervention of the Ombudsman Punjab has led to the release of Rs73.2 million in family pensions to complainants across the province, providing relief to several affected families.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, the payments were made following directives issued by the Ombudsman Punjab in response to multiple complaints regarding delays in the disbursement of family pensions.

In one case, a widow approached the Regional Office of the Ombudsman Punjab in Multan, stating that the concerned department had failed to release her family pension after the death of her husband, leaving her in severe financial hardship.

Taking prompt notice of the complaint, the Multan Regional Office pursued the matter with the relevant authorities. Upon completion of proceedings, the Ombudsman issued orders ensuring the release of Rs3.9 million to the complainant on account of pending family pension dues.

The complainants expressed gratitude to the Ombudsman Punjab for timely intervention and for facilitating the release of their lawful financial entitlements.
