Ombudsman finds staff absent from govt hospital

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Mar, 2026) The Regional Ombudsman Syed Muhammad Sajjad Haider paid a surprise visit to a government hospital in Bihar colony area here on Sunday, finding the wards and the OPD vacant with no doctors or paramedics in attendance.

An official spokesman informed that to his utter dismay he even found the hospital's emergency ward and maternal and child health care ward vacant.

He added that only 2 dispensers named Muhstaq Ali and Awais Ahmed and a watchman, Naeem Irfan, were present at the health facility.The ombudsman noted that the staff was absent during the duty hours.The official also came across dubious stock of medicines while the patient registration system also appeared non-existent.Haider cautioned that such neglect in duty posed a threat to lives and health of patients seeking emergency medical support.
