MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has taken strict action against the illegal mixing of chemicals in petroleum products, imposing a hefty fine of Rs110 million on the owner of Rana Filling Station in Muzaffargarh.

According to official details, OGRA launched a crackdown on the sale of substandard and adulterated fuel, during which it was discovered that the petrol pump had been involved in mixing harmful chemicals in both petrol and diesel. The authority also found that more than 135,000 liters of petroleum products were being stored illegally without a valid license.

Laboratory analysis of the seized fuel samples confirmed the presence of hazardous chemical substances in both petrol and diesel. The investigation further revealed that the adulterated fuel was being prepared at the site and then supplied to various areas, posing serious risks to vehicles and public safety.

Taking decisive action, OGRA has canceled the No Objection Certificate (NOC) of the petrol pump. Orders have also been issued to take control of all machinery, equipment, and storage tanks at the facility. Additionally, the district administration has been directed to seize all petroleum products present at the site.

The petrol pump was reportedly operating under a private oil company, and OGRA has now decided to initiate further action against the company as well. The authority emphasized that no leniency will be shown towards those involved in illegal practices that harm consumers and damage vehicles.

Officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring the supply of quality fuel and protecting the public from fraudulent and hazardous activities in the petroleum sector.
