Officials ordered to take action against inflation

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th May, 2026) A high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia, where he directed price control magistrates and relevant officials to intensify efforts to control price hikes of essential commodities.

According to an official press release issued here on Saturday, the meeting discussed administrative matters, government targets, and measures to improve public service delivery. Deputy Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, and Assistant Commissioners from all three districts of the division attended the meeting.

The Commissioner instructed price control magistrates to remain active in the field and ensure continuous monitoring of market prices.

He directed Assistant Commissioners to resolve public complaints promptly at the local level so that citizens from remote areas do not need to visit divisional or district offices.

He further emphasized strict enforcement of staff attendance and punctuality in government offices. All development projects were directed to be completed within the stipulated time frame and with high-quality standards.

The meeting also reviewed cleanliness efforts under the “Suthra Punjab” campaign, beautification initiatives across Bahawalpur Division, timely response to dog-bite incidents, verification of safety certificates for private school buildings, and monthly submission of infrastructure certificates by private housing societies.
