Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has said that a significant breakthrough has been achieved in the ongoing crackdown against notorious and hardened criminals operating in the riverine (katcha) border areas of Sindh and Punjab

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2026) Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has said that a significant breakthrough has been achieved in the ongoing crackdown against notorious and hardened criminals operating in the riverine (katcha) border areas of Sindh and Punjab.

He emphasized that elements challenging the writ of the state are now being compelled to surrender before the law, a communique said.

Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, said that eight outlaws laid down their arms and surrendered to authorities yesterday.

Today, six criminals including the notorious Rahib Shar, considered a symbol of terror in District Ghotki and adjoining areas have also surrendered.

Those, who surrendered include Rahib Nadir Moli, Zahoor Morio, Sindho Sheikh, Bakhsh son of Sawaan Shar, Zahoor son of Zoro Shar, Rahib son of Qaim Shar, and Morio son of Manthar Shar.

The Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar stated that the Government of Sindh’s launched operation, “Mega Operation Nijat Mehran,” will continue until the last outlaw is eliminated.
