Notorious dacoit killed in police shootout i

WAH CANTT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) A notorious Robber, identified as Raees Afghani, was killed here on Wednesday in an exchange of gunfire with the Crime Control Department (CCD) , the official sources said.

According to police officials, the suspect was wanted in multiple cases of armed robbery and mobile phone snatching across Taxila, Wah Cantt and Hassan Abdal.

The police said a CCD team launched an intelligence-based operation in the jurisdiction of Wah Saddar Police Station to apprehend the suspect.

During the raid, Afghani allegedly opened fire on the police team.

The police retaliated critically wounded the criminal.

He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, they added.
