Notorious criminal nabbed after police encounter; weapons, heroin seized

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) The police have apprehended a notorious criminal involved in dozens of robberies and crimes during a police encounter in the area of Saddar police station and recovered weapons and heroin worth millions of rupees from his possession.

Police spokesman said here on Tuesday that during a routine checkpoint near Choti Nahr, three armed outlaws on a motorcycle opened fire on police personnel.

Receiving information, SHO Saddar police station Sub Inspector (SI) Rana Muhammad Ali rushed to the spot and encircled the accused. The police directed the criminals for surrender but they once again opened blunt fire on the police party.

The police also returned fire and during this encounter, the police succeeded in arresting a criminal identified as Arslan Uthwal resident of Chak 214/R-B Dhudiwala while his accomplices managed to escape.

The arrested suspect has an extensive criminal record with nearly 60 registered cases of robbery, dacoity and illegal weapon possession across Saddar, Mansoorabad, Khurarianwala, Madina Town and Balochni police jurisdictions.

The police recovered firearms and narcotics including heroin of significant market value from Arslan’s possession while further investigation is under progress to arrest the escapees, he added.
