SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) Under the increasing pressure of the ongoing “Nijat Mehran” police operation, launched on the directives of the Sindh Government, one of the most wanted and notorious dacoits, Ali Ahmed alias Ahmado Narejo, carrying a head money of Rs. 5 million, has surrendered to Khairpur Police.

According to Press release on Wednesday, the surrender comes as a result of effective strategy and leadership under DIG Larkana/Sukkur Nasir Aftab, with SSP Khairpur Dr Samiullah Soomro heading the operation in the riverine (kacha) area.

The operation has been sending a clear message to criminal elements, either surrender or face decisive action.

Ali Ahmed alias Ahmado Narejo, son of Ghulam Rasool Narejo, was wanted in more than 60 cases involving heinous crimes such as murder, robbery, dacoity, extortion, police encounters, and terrorism, including the martyrdom of police personnel.

He was considered a symbol of terror in the kacha area and carried a bounty of Rs. 5 million on his head.

According to police, the dacoit expressed remorse and announced his repentance from a life of crime while surrendering.

He also appealed to his accomplices to lay down their arms and surrender to authorities.

SSP Khairpur Dr. Samiullah Soomro stated that the “Nijat Mehran” operation will continue until all criminal elements are eliminated and complete peace is restored in the kacha area. “We are committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens, eradicating crime, and ensuring lasting peace in the region,” he added.

The surrender marks a significant breakthrough for Khairpur Police and reflects the success of sustained pressure and strategic operations against organized crime in Sindh’s riverine belt.
