Singer says she was not aware that song had been translated into Hindi or that any alterations had been made to its original version

TORONT0: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 20th, 2026) Canadian-born Indian actor and dancer Nora Fatehi has addressed the controversy surrounding a song featuring her performance in an upcoming film.

The track “Sarke Chunariya Teri Sarke” from actor Sanjay Dutt’s film KD: The Devil was recently released on YouTube and quickly drew criticism over its lyrics and visuals, with social media users raising concerns about its content.

In a video statement shared on Instagram, Nora Fatehi said the song was originally filmed three years ago as part of a Kannada-language project. She clarified that she was not aware that the song had been translated into Hindi or that any alterations had been made to its original version.

She further stated that she was neither informed nor consulted regarding the dubbing of the track. Fatehi also objected to an AI-generated image circulating online that allegedly depicted her alongside Sanjay Dutt, saying it was created without her consent.

In her post, she stressed that she does not endorse the controversial elements associated with the song and expressed appreciation for public criticism, noting that the filmmakers subsequently removed the track.

Fatehi also urged people not to share the song further, adding that some individuals were attempting to misuse the situation to damage her reputation. She said she and her team would exercise greater caution in future collaborations.

Meanwhile, the reports suggested that advocate Vineet Jindal filed a complaint with the Central board of Film Certification, arguing that certain lyrics were objectionable and inappropriate for public viewing, and that the visuals depicted content considered indecent.
