No leniency for Ramazan Act violators: Commissioner

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) Commissioner Muhammad Dawood on Friday vowed strict enforcement of the Ramazan Act in Dera Ismail Khan,

stating that no leniency would be shown to those found violating the law during the holy month.

He expressed these views during a meeting with Maulana Qari Muhammad Umair Farooqi, Mohtamim of Jamia Usmania Muryali, General Secretary of JUI-F Dera City, and spokesperson for Wafaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia. The Ulema called for further practical steps to ensure effective implementation of the Ramazan Act throughout the district.

The commissioner reiterated that Ramazan holds immense spiritual significance for Muslims and stressed that maintaining its sanctity was a collective responsibility.

He said the district administration is making comprehensive arrangements to facilitate citizens during the sacred month and will continue to improve measures to ensure a peaceful and respectful environment.

Maulana Farooqi appreciated the commissioner’s firm stance and administrative efforts, assuring full cooperation from religious scholars and seminaries in supporting the implementation of the Ramazan Act.
