No documents, no photocopies: CTO Virk enforces ITP paperless licensing

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk chaired an important meeting to review implementation of the paperless licensing system across Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) service centres.

An ITP official told APP on Sunday that all in-charges of police facilitation centres attended the meeting.

CTO Virk issued clear directions to ensure complete implementation of the paperless system at all centres.

The CTO informed that ITP’s licensing system had been made fully paperless. He said that from medical examination to printing of driving licence, no paper would be used in the entire process.

The CTO said that all in-charges were directed to strictly follow the system and ensure smooth service delivery. He said that separate counters had been allocated for women and senior citizens to facilitate them.

CTO Virk directed officers to treat every citizen with courtesy and professionalism during the process. He said citizens would now only need to bring their original CNIC to obtain a driving licence.

The official said that the ITP was also planning to digitize the licensing fee system in the near future.
