NGC MD visits 500kV Gatti Grid Station

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC) Managing Director Engineer Altaf Hussain Malik conducted a field visit to 500 kV Grid Station Gatti, Faisalabad, one of the oldest 500 kV grid stations in Pakistan, commissioned in 1980s.

Accompanied by Deputy Managing Director (AD&M) Engr. Rasheed A. Bhutto, GM Asset Management (North) Engr. Anees Ahmed, GM (Procurement & Contract Management) Engr. Sajjad Haider Syed, Chief Engineer (Material Procurement & Management) and Chief Engineer Asset Management (North), the MD received a detailed briefing on the grid station’s operational status, according to NGC spokesman here Monday.

The MD directed the Asset Management team to strengthen condition-based monitoring of aged assets, along with timely maintenance and replacements according to asset health.

The MD NGC also inspected the ongoing warehouse pavement work and instructed the team to accelerate the pace for earliest completion. He appreciated the team’s efforts and reaffirmed NGC’s commitment to proactive asset management and a strong, reliable transmission system.
